The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority has refuted claims against any thaw over the airspace ban against Qatari flights in a statement made today.

"The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates denies allowing aircraft registered in the State of Qatar to cross the sovereign airspace of the state," the statement said.

"Those aircraft are only allowed to use the airspace managed by the UAE above international waters," the statement went on to read.

Qatari registered aircraft were banned from flying over UAE airspace in June as a result of strained diplomatic relations between Qatar and the rest of the Gulf
