Kuwait's Wataniya returns to the skies after 6 years

Kuwait's Wataniya Airways will return to skies six years after halting operations, according Kuwait's state run news agency KUNA.

The airline's first scheduled flight will see it depart to Tbilisi, Georgia on July 11, after which it will resume flights to  Baku, Azerbaijan and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, UAE, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, India, Pakistan and other countries in Europe.

Wataniya had been in operation for only three years before financial troubles caused it to cease oerations. 

According to KUNA, the airline, Kuwait's third, now has the backing of Al Tuwaijri Group with capital of 10 million dinars ($33.01 million), and expects to double its capital to 20 million dinars.
