Turkish Airlines reports strong performance for April 2018

Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Turkey, has reported strong results for the month of April. In particular, the carrier experience double-digit growth in passengers in the first quarter of 2018.

The total number of passengers increased by 15% to reach 6.4 million passengers by the end of April. This resulted in Turkish Airlines experiencing the highest April load factor in its history with 83.2%.

Total Load Factor improved by 4.1 points and included a 6.1% increase in capacity, while international LF increased by 4.2 points to reach 82.6%. Domestic Load Factors for April reached 87.1%.

Other key figures include a significant rise in international passengers by 30%, as well as double-digit growth in demand that has seen steady growth since July 2018. For April, the demand continued on at a pace of 12% growth.

In terms of cargo and mail volume, Turkish Airlines reports an 18% increase compared to April 2017. The carrier also highlighted key growth in specifics regions, such as North America that saw 27% growth, MEA with a 26% increase, and lastly, Europe with a 19% increase.

From the start of June till April, Turkish Airlines has seen a substantial increase in both demand and the total number of passengers, 21% and 24%, respectively, over the same period in 2017. The total number of passengers has reached 23 million.
