Etihad Airways has moved to introduce seasonal summer flights connecting Abu Dhabi to the Egyptian city of Alexandria.
A popular destination for expats living in the UAE, the national carrier will offer four flights a week from 2 July – 31 August.
Operated on an Airbus A320, the flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 14:15 every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving in Alexandria at 16:00 local time. Etihad will then launch the return flight from Alexandria at 16:50, which will arrive in Abu Dhabi at 10:40 local time.
Commenting on the newest seasonal offering in Etihad’s portfolio, Robin Kamark, chief commercial officer, Etihad Aviation Group, said: “Alexandria is one of the most popular holiday destinations for UAE residents, and our new seasonal flights are timed to provide access for tourists during the peak summer period. They will also be a convenient option for many of the Egyptian nationals living in the UAE and planning to return home during the holiday season.”
Following the introduction of the seasonal services, Etihad will operate a total of 32 flights per week to Egypt. This will consist of 28 flights to Cairo and four to Alexandria.
