Gulf Air will next year resume its direct service between Bahrain and Erbil in Iraq.
The route, which will launch in February, will strengthen the airline’s regional network and existing Iraqi routes of Baghdad and Najaf.
Gulf Air will operate three weekly flights between Bahrain International Airport and Erbil International Airport operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft.
The airline’s network is expanding to strengthen the current destinations map with feeder cities balanced from the east and west of the Kingdom.
Last week, Bahrain’s national carrier entered a codeshare agreement with KLM, which will see Gulf Air place its GF code on KLM flights from Bahrain to Amsterdam and flights from Amsterdam to Frankfurt.
And KLM will place its ‘KL’ code on Gulf Air flights from Bahrain to Sialkot, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar.
