Digital Studio: What products and services are you focusing on here at CABSAT?

One of the services we are focusing on here at CABSAT is our Channel Store. The Red Bee Media Channel Store is our global channel distribution hub which provides access to over a 10 000 linear and OTT channels, a number that is rapidly growing. This service provides a place where broadcasters and content owners can transmit their signal globally through our distribution network. Respectively, distributors can gain access to content from anywhere in the world.

One of the biggest advantages for content owners using the Red Bee Media Channel Store is the number of distributors that are connected to the platform. When a customer is connected, they will have instant access to distributors all over Europe and the rest of the World. With fast onboarding and a flexible setup, we offer broadcasters a cost-effective way of reaching new markets and audiences. On top of this we provide 24/7 managed broadcast services and 24/7 second line support and monitoring.

DS: How do you see the market for IP delivery evolving?

The use of IP delivery is becoming increasingly important for broadcasters and media companies. It enables them not only increase flexibility and reduce costs but also creates new opportunities to reach new audiences and markets.
At Red Bee Media we have developed a service with protocols that allow for secure internet delivery straight from the broadcaster to the preferred market. Something that can be beneficial for broadcasters in the MENA region struggling with costly fiber routes for example.

DS: What are the benefits of moving to OPEX spending models for broadcasters?

With and OPEX model broadcasters are able to develop their offering without heavy upfront investments and using managed services from Red Bee Media enables them to benefit from our collective efforts in innovation and workflow development. We offer rate card based managed services, with a possibility upgrade and change according to our customer’s needs. The flexibility and access to innovation that managed services provide is hard to achieve independently for broadcasters.

DS: How was the year 2018 for Red Bee Media and what are your plans moving forward?

2018 was a great year for Red Bee Media with a lot of exciting announcements throughout the year and we have increased our brand awareness on the global broadcasting and media market. For example, we unveiled the world’s first software-only uncompressed playout deployment solution last year. This gained a lot attention all over the world and it gave us a chance to showcase how we are able to innovate and bring new solutions to the media industry.

Going forward our next big event is NAB Show in Las Vegas. At the Show Red Bee Media is demonstrating our latest innovations and how our expertise in technology and workflows give our customers the ability to focus on their core business and transform their business with our help.

We are showcasing the world’s first software-only Playout Deployment. In accessibility, we show how Red Bee Media can make content accessible to all audiences. Showcasing our Managed OTT Services we are demonstrating how any content owner can reach new audiences and monetize content. We are also demonstrating our full Metadata offering where we show ways to give audiences the ability to discover their favorite content. Our Media Management Demo focus on Nucleus, our next generation Media Management Platform.

Finally, our Distribution Services are showcased through demonstrating how to distribute content around the globe with the Red Bee Media Channel Store. We are showing our complete end-to-end workflow along with our software-based encoding and mux for Playout, high-speed distribution to OTT and P2P delivery of UHD signals with lossless compression
