Dubai Studio City (DSC) is participating in the NAB Show 2018 in Las Vegas, the largest gathering for the media, entertainment and technology industries.

At NAB 2018, Dubai Studio City is introducing its services and state-of-the-art facilities, including the region’s largest Soundstages, designed to support business set-up and growth, at booth SU9824. Dubai Studio City is a freezone that offers a range of cutting edge facilities, and services to companies across the media, broadcasting, TV and film production industries.

A delegation from Dubai Studio City, led by Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director, and Khadija Al Bastaki, Business Development Manager, is leveraging DSC’s participation at the event to conduct a roadshow to explore collaboration prospects with US businesses seeking to expand to the Middle East region.

The Dubai Studio City representatives also held a strategic meeting with Abdulla Alsaboosi, Consul General of the UAE in Los Angeles, to discuss further opportunities for building synergies with broadcasting and media companies in the United States.

DSC delegates are also attending the NAB Show’s sideline events, including a breakfast workshop themed ‘The Reality of VR Video’, and a session titled ‘Bridging Gaming and Broadcast Technology in Virtual Sets’.

Majed Al Suwaidi said, “Our presence at NAB Show 2018 reflects our ongoing efforts to reach out to relevant businesses operating within our region and beyond. The exhibition provides us with an ideal opportunity to engage with like-minded entities, exchange ideas and share best practices. Dubai Studio City is currently home to over 300 companies in the entertainment industry, including some Fortune 500 organisations, and seeks to continue expanding its reach.”

“According to Arab Media Outlook 2016-2018, the gaming industry in the MENA region is surging exponentially, with revenues expected to cross USD 1 billion by 2018. This makes it a key sector of interest for us to focus on,” added Al Suwaidi.

Currently over 70 US companies have established their Middle East presence in Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Production City.
