VOX Cinemas has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Saudi-based Myrkott, the producer of the hit YouTube animated series Masameer, which has attracted more than 700mn views across social media.
As per the deal, VOX Cinemas, which is wholly owned by Majid Al Futtaim Group, will get the exclusive distribution rights of a feature film based on Masameer.
Myrkott has produced over 100 Masameer shows that cover subjects related to the Saudi society and the country’s 2030 Vision.
“It with a variety of high profile partners like the General Commission of Audiovisual Media (GCAM) and the King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture and uses comedy to appeal to Arab audiences around the world,” a press statement said.
