TCL today announced that Middle East streaming video service StarzPlay's app is now available in all TCL smart TVs supported by Android. TCL is one of the top-three global television manufacturer and a leading consumer electronics brand.
Owners of TCL TVs supported by Android will now have Starz Play preloaded in their TVs to enjoy the latest movies and TV shows for the entire family. In addition to its unique shows, blockbuster movies and popular Arabic series, StarzPlay allows subscribers to watch its programs in full HD and 4K content via the smart TVs.
Niranjan Gidwani, CEO, Eros Group, authorized distributors for TCL in the UAE commented, “We are thrilled to be having a long-standing relationship with a brand like TCL, one of the top three global TV manufacturers, which grows stronger year on year. We are excited for this announcement as StarzPlay has grown rapidly over the years and it definitely stands out with its huge library of Arabic content which is much desired in the Middle East”
StarzPlay is a regional leader in subscription video on demand (SVOD) service streaming content to 19 countries across the Middle East and North Africa, with a library of thousands of Hollywood movies, TV shows, documentaries, kid's entertainment in addition to dedicated Arabic and Bollywood content.
Partnerships with device manufacturers are seen as an important distribution channel in the increasingly competitive regional SVOD market. StarzPlay had earlier this year announced a similar agreement to make their service available to Samsung TV buyers.
