To date the film has grossed a record-breaking $17.2 million at the box office. It has received 15 awards and 43 nominations, including Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Awards set to be held on 24 February.

The documentary was produced by Parkes+MacDonald Image Nation alongside Little Monster Films and National Geographic. ‘Free Solo’ will be airing on National Geographic channel in the region in spring 2019.
