Samsung Gulf Electronics has officially inaugurated the Galaxy Note8 in the UAE and will be priced at AED 3,399.
After the disastrous Galaxy Note7, Samsung has made overall hardware improvements, along with several modifications compared to earlier editions.
Possibly the device's biggest draw is its 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display, the largest ever introduced in the series. Additionally the Galaxy Note8 is reportedly the first smartphone to come equipped with two 12MP rear cameras, along with an 8MP Smart Auto Focus front-facing camera.
The device's S Pen has also been improved with a finer tip and enhanced pressure sensitivity. Helping artistic end-users to really maximise on their creativity, the improvements to the S Pen work quite well with the Live Messages tool. The latter allows users to handwrite message, adding special effects and animated GIFs, which can then be shared on the user's preferred messaging and social media app.
In terms of hardware performance, the Galaxy Note8 features 6GB RAM, 64GB of storage that is expandable up to 256GB, as well as a 10nm processor. Other features include water and dust resistance and fast wireless charging.
The Galaxy Note8 is priced at AED 3,300, plus Samsung is offering a AKG Speaker worth AED599 for free for pre-booked customers. The smartphone will also be available at retail stores from 21 September.
