Ericsson recently hosted Information and Communications Technology (ICT) innovators at the company's head office in Sweden. A total of 17 students from across Oman, Iraq and Saudi Arabia spent an extensive week participating in engaging activities and learning along the way.

The week was the culmination of Ericsson's 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) use cases competitions. These were held alongside operator partners Omantel, Zain Iraq and Mobily, targeting engineering students from renowned universities. The winners were then invited to visit Ericsson's headquarters.

Aimed to empower, educate and inspire, the student week enabled students to meet and collaborate with industry experts and leaders. The discussions had a specific focus towards the fields of 5G and IoT.

In addition to receiving training, coaching and the change to meet with innovation experts, the participants also took part in a range of interactive workshops and presentations. Of the broad topics discussed, some included Ericsson's mobility report, sustainability, IoT and 5G.

The participants also got a chance to spend time in Ericsson studio, which gave them an insightful glimpse into the planning behind Sweden's Dubai Expo 2020 pavilion and group excursions to technology companies such as Hewlett Packard enterprises (HP) and Intel.
