Oman to complete 67 road projects worth $5.5bn in 2014

There are currently 67 road projects, including maintenance work, being carried out in Oman at a total cost of around $5.5bn (RO2.15bn).

The figures were revealed by Eng. Salim bin Mohammed al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transport at a press conference, where he outlined the projects implemented in 2013 and those to be completed in 2014.

Eng. Abdul Rahman bin Salim al-Hatimi, director of the railway project, talked about the importance of rail to the Oman economy, while Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali al-Zaabi, CEO of the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA), gave a presentation looking back on 2013 and forward to the coming year.

He also reviewed the projects of developing Muscat and Salalah airports.
