Doha's Corniche Street is currently undergoing construction works to help alleviate traffic in the area.

Work has started on a new Corniche Street intersection to help ease traffic flow coming from the National Theatre and the Emiri Diwan intersection, Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said.

The project includes widening a part of Al Rumailah Street to three lanes from the current two. This work is scheduled to be completed within the next two months.

The new intersection aims to enable Corniche Street users, travelling from Al Diwan intersection towards the National Theatre intersection, to make left-hand turns onto Al Rumailah Street or U-turns to the other side of the street.

The authroity said temporary closures will only take place on the lane adjacent to the work zone in the median on Corniche Street during the night, for a maximum of two hours at a time while material delivery and unloading takes place.
