Roots Group Arabia (RGA) has supplied 150 Haulotte units to support the construction of Saudi Arabia’s $22bn Riyadh Metro project.

The majority of Haulotte aerial work platforms (AWPs) working at the infrastructure development are articulated booms ranging in size from 20m to 41m, and HT23RTJ telescopic booms.

RGA has also supplied a selection of Haulotte HTL4017 telehandlers to support digging works in Riyadh Metro’s tunnels.

The units are being used to increase productivity and reduce the time needed by the project’s giant tunnel-boring machines (TBMs), according to Haulotte.

Three consortia have been enlisted to construct Riyadh Metro, which at 40.7km, looks set to become the longest mass transit system in the world upon completion.

Riyadh Metro is scheduled to complete before the end of 2018.
