Saudi Arabia-headquartered company, Universal Building Materials Merchants Co (UBM) has announced that it has signed a "strategic alliance" agreement with Assa Abloy Security Solutions Middle East.

In a statement, Assa Abloy said that it is expecting its partnership with the door hardware and mechanical and architectural products supplier to help both firms better serve the kingdom’s construction sector.

Commenting on the agreement, Raghunath Sadasivam, chairman of UBM’s advisory board, said: “UBM is excited to be associated with Assa Abloy, an industry leader that emphasises innovation, quality, and a sustainable approach to business.”

He added: “We will have added focus on selling innovative and technology-based products, including doors from Assa Abloy.”

Meanwhile, Nassim Abu Yousef, Assa Abloy’s chief executive officer, said the agreement will boost collaboration between the two companies, noting that his company is currently on an expansion course with “new acquisitions happening soon”.

Assa Abloy, he pointed out, has two manufacturing facilities in the UAE and one in Egypt.
