The Ministry of Works and Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning departments of Bahrain have announced the successful completion of the B3 Storm Water Drainage Network project.

The nearly $879,000 (BD333,809) project has been implemented by Al Wardi Constructions and will serve nine blocks in the capital, southern and northern governorates, TradeNews Arabia reported.

Sanitary engineering assistant undersecretary Asma Murad said the project reflects the ministry’s efforts to improve infrastructure and revamp locations that witness storm water pools, in preparation for the upcoming rainy season.

The scope of work included extension of a three km-long main connection, construction of 29 inspection chambers, 49 storm water collection points and 11 storm water collection tanks, she added.
