Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its hydrocarbon division has been awarded a pipeline contract worth almost $262.3m (₹1700 crore) by Kuwait Oil Company.

Under the terms of the deal, L&T will carry out the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a new crude transit line from North Kuwait to Ahmadi.

In a statement, the company revealed that the project is expected to complete in Q3 2020.

According to L&T, it bagged the order despite facing “stiff international competitive bidding”.

The India-headquartered firm, which has more than $17bn in revenue, is currently executing Kuwait Oil Company’s gathering centre 30 (GC-30) project.
