Al-Futtaim Logistics has announced the opening of a cold storage warehousing facility in Dubai’s Jebel Ali South Free Zone.
The facility can accommodate more than 1,600 pallets, with full temperature control ranging from 18°C to -22°C, the company revealed in a statement.
The facility reportedly incorporates warehouse management technology and designed for piece and pallet picking for speed-to-market orders.
It also features an onsite office for local authorities that is expected to enable fast-track inspections.
According to Al-Futtaim, in the unlikely event of a power outage, the facility has 100% business continuity measures in place to maintain uninterrupted services.
The warehouse is also fully equipped with anti-skidding tires and anti-glaze temperature controlled driver cabins, ensuring operational efficiency while keeping health and safety at the core of the operations, the company added.
Al-Futtaim Logistics manging director Raman Kumar commented: “The new cold storage warehouse facility represents an important investment for us and strengthens our service offerings, while opening the door for more opportunities with third-party customers.
“The multi-temperature facility enables us to handle the storage, processing, and distribution of chilled and frozen goods, and is supported by a comprehensive range of distribution and logistics services, providing customers with efficient and cost-effective solutions.”
