Emrill recorded more than $135m (AED495.7m) in contract wins and renewals during the past year, setting a new record for the Dubai-headquartered facilities management (FM) outfit.
The company said it had won a "string of top contracts" during the past 12 months, including work for Bvlgari-branded residences, Marina Gate 1, The Hills, Town Square Dubai, and La Mer.
Contract wins across aviation, master community, retail, industrial, and residential projects generated $67m (AED246m) for Emrill. The company also benefited from $68m (AED249m) in contract renewals, including work on Dubai Airport Terminal 3 and several luxury buildings in Dubai Marina, such as Princess Tower and 23 Marina.
Its record-breaking achievement came during testing times, following the collapse of its shareholder Carillon earlier this year.
Pressed on whether the liquidation of the UK building contractor had impacted the business, Alex Davies, managing director of Emrill, told Construction Week the impact was nominal.
"Emrill is an independent business and the affairs of our shareholders largely do not affect the day-to-day operations of the company. We have had a good year with $135m in new contract wins and renewals, so it is business as usual at Emrill".
Carillion's collapse is not the only challenge Emrill has contended with in the past year, as the company's head of work winning and business development, Sally Harrison, said site price pressures continued to be an issue.
"There are price pressures across every market – however, our approach is to work in partnership with our clients to share the responsibility and meet this challenge," she said.
"In practice, this means maintaining a high-quality service whilst taking a fresh look at how we are delivering our services. This may entail using new technologies, machinery, and equipment to deliver efficiencies or looking at other FM innovations we can bring to meet the challenge."
