Cavendish Maxwell has appointed a new associate partner in its Project and Building Consultancy team in Dubai as part an effort to further develop this segment of the property consultant’s business line.

According to a statement on Wednesday, Benjamin Walker, MRICS, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Project and Consultancy team, supporting partner and head of the Project and Building Consultancy department, Craig Ross.

Walker specialises in technical due diligence, life-cycle costing, condition surveys, dilapidations and project management of alteration and refurbishment projects, Walker brings over 13 years’ of experience of building and surveying and project management, gained both in the UK and New Zealand.

Before joining Cavendish’s Dubai team, Walker headed up the building consultancy department for the New Zealand arm of global real estate firm CBRE Asia Pacific between November 2016 and July 2018.

During his time in New Zealand he was instrumental in providing key advice to top tier international clients on some of the largest acquisitions in both New Zealand and Australia.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Building Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, UK.

Speaking on the appointment, Ross said: “We are delighted to welcome Ben to our team, who brings with him a wealth of experience and whose skills will be a great asset in our goal of providing the best possible service to our clients.

“It’s an exciting time for Ben to join as we are finding an increasing demand for our core building surveying services both in the local and international market and will therefore look to establish him as a key leader in the team and also the wider building surveying profession in the Middle East as a qualified RICS APC Assessor”.
