Damac Properties plans to award a contract of undisclosed value for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work on Vera Residences, the developer has confirmed.
The contract will be issued in March 2019, Construction Week’s sister title MEP Middle East reported, citing ProTenders as a source.
A spokesperson for Damac Properties told Construction Week it was “looking to award someone the contract in Q1 2019”.
Vera Residences is a 30-storey residential project located in Business Bay, Dubai. The tower features a basement and a ground-floor level, three podium levels, 25 residential floors, and a rooftop that is accessible to tenants.
In March 2018, Damac Properties issued an enabling tender for the project situated on Sheikh Zayed Road. The developer has yet to announce the name of the company that eventually won the tender, the scope of which included preparing the building site for foundational layout and piling.
Arabtec Construction was awarded the construction contract for Vera Residences and Damac’s Reva Residences in January 2019.
Commenting on the win earlier this month, Arabtec Holding’s group chief executive officer, Hamish Tyrwhitt, hailed the repeat business with Damac as a testament of the construction heavyweight’s ability to deliver projects.
Construction Week has reached out to Arabtec to comment on Vera Residences' upcoming MEP contract.
