English Premier League side Arsenal FC are set to play a one-off exhibition match at Al Nasr’s Al Maktoum stadium in Dubai on March 26.
The match, which kicks off at 6pm local time on Tuesday, will mark the formal opening of the newly built Al Maktoum Stadium.
Arsenal, which beat Al-Nasr Club 3-1 in a 1976 match, takes on French side Rennes in a Europa League game on 14 March before flying to Dubai for warm-weather training during the international break.
Tickets for the game priced at $27 (AED100) and $40 (AED150) will go on sale on Saturday, March 16.
The match will mark the official opening of Al Maktoum Stadium, where a renovation programme, completed in December 2018, increased capacity to 15,000.
Four television production studios and a press centre with room for up to 200 people were added to the Karama stadium as part of the revamp.
Al Maktoum Stadium has also been equipped with facial recognition technology to ensure the safety and security of fans and players during matches.
