Abu Dhabi's water and electricity firms unite to create training programme

Water and electricity companies in Abu Dhabi have joined forced to create a training and development programme for Emirati graduates.

Abu Dhabi Power Corporation's (ADPower) subsidiaries - including Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC), Abu Dhabi Transmission and Despatch Company (Transco), and Mirfa Power Company (AMPC) – have banded together to offer 100 youngsters the chance to join an 18-month programme.

Divided into two phases, the course will offer leadership competency building, management skills, and technical development through various interactive training techniques and experiences, as well as “on-the-job” experience and career development.

Jasim Hussain Thabet, chief executive and managing director of ADPower, said: "We are pleased to launch such an immersive learning and career building experience for young Emirati men and women, allowing them to reach their full potential and become effective members in the ongoing development of the utility sector in the UAE through ADPower's subsidiaries.

“We look forward to receiving our first cohort of candidates this year, and we wish them all the best in their journey with us."

Interested candidates have until 15 October to apply through tawdheef2019.abudhabipower.ae.

Priority will be given to candidates who have illustrated exceptional accomplishment in their studies, extra-curricular activities, and personal achievement.
