Kuwait’s municipal council has announced the development of a 2,650km2 Entertainment City project in Kuwait City, after the council accepted a decision by the nation’s ministers for Amiri Diwan to take over the project instead of the Touristic Enterprises Council.

According to Kuwait’s state news agency, KUNA, the municipal council issued a decision in 2016 to extend the city’s Sheikh Zayed Park into the project, which will be designed with the help of international companies.

Chairman of the capital governorate committee and member of Kuwait’s municipal council, Hassan Kamal, said that the decision on the Sheikh Zayed Park required allocation of land for the park in another location, where it has 1,200 trees.

Kuwait’s Public Authority of Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has contracts to maintain the park.
