Disruptive interior designer Paul Bishop has collaborated with graphic artist Robert Durrant to create an urban exploration of colour and energy at Downtown Design 2019.

The PBxRD collaboration is a visual journey created by the two designers that captures the energy of the urban world by laying textures, colours and graphics to create street art-style interiors.

Bishop Design told Commercial Interior Design the PBxRD collaboration uses layered hand-drawn elements to reflect gritty and chaotic urban environments indoor, transforming decay and decadence.

The collaboration explores the urban decay and uses art, dirt, paint and scratches to make the undesirable desirable, the Dubai-based practice said.

This energetic explosion of creativity will be displayed at Downtown Design, which runs from 12-15 November in Dubai Design District.

Paul Bishop, who was named Interior Designer of the Year at the CID Awards 2018 and picked up F&B Design of the Year at the 2019 awards, is known for a disruptive and radical aesthetic.

Alongside Robert Durrant, the PBxRD collaboration worked alongside WallArt, PrintPac and tech giant HP, which supplied its Latex technology for the creative concept. You can check out the collaboration at stand C07.

In addition to the PBxRD tie-up, Paul Bishop is a judge for the Italian Way Product Design Award. A winner will be selected for this at Downtown Design.
