Germany's Siemens has created a wifi-connected household appliances collection that lets you brew coffee and turn on the washing machine with an app.
The company’s Home Connect app allows users to hook up everything from their cooker and washing machine to an app that can be used to turn on the oven or brew a cup of coffee.
The new Siemens fridge, for example, has two live cameras so users can see what they have in left when they are out shopping for food.
“Home Connect transforms living spaces into connected homes where devices communicate with users seamlessly and can be controlled over wifi,” the company said in a statement.
“Appliances now pave the way for a smart lifestyle where communication becomes easier than ever before.”
The Home Connect app lets users turn devices on or off and carry out various functions from far away – as long they have a wifi connection.
The company has launched a range of homeware appliances that can be controlled through the Home Connect app. The collection includes washing machines, a dishwasher, fridge, built-in hob, built-in hood, built-in oven, and a built-in coffee machine.
The collection has already hit the market in the UAE and will support the Smart Dubai 2021 vision to turn the city into an ecosystem of innovation and futuristic technologies that make our lives happier and daily services more efficient.
