Graduates from Heriot-Watt University Dubai's School of Textiles and Design have created an online exhibition incorporating video, virtual catwalks, slide shows and static imagery.Titled ‘Creative Disruption’, the 2020 graduate show is an alternative to the traditional exhibition and a runway show to mark the students’ degree completion.
Vanessa Northway, associate head of School of Textiles and Design at Heriot-Watt University Dubai, says: “We are very proud of our graduates’ resilience and dedication to prove their mettle, while we navigate the current crisis."Heriot-Watt is driven by a strong commitment to keeping teaching excellence and student success at the forefront even during pressing times. The entire showcase was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of the students who not only rose to the challenge of adapting to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic but also managed to complete their final projects during the lockdown.”
‘Creative Disruption’ covers all specialist areas within Heriot-Watt’s School of Textiles and Design across their global campuses, which include undergraduate programmes in Design for Textiles and Interior Design. The virtual showcase is currently live and will be running throughout the summer at hwgraduateshow.com.
