Among the challenges COVID-19 brings is the impact it has on SME and self-employed workers in the creative industry.

With this in mind, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority and the Art Dubai Group have launched #DubaiIDEATHON, an initiative inviting proposals that respond to the crisis.

The open call welcomes everyone to submit ideas from April 2nd-4th. After that, everyone will sit in on two days of workshops to germinate schemes into ready-to-implement proposals. Industry experts will then help devise implementation strategies and who knows, your problem-solving project could be shared with the world soon.

Art Dubai's 14th edition was originally supposed to take place from March 25th to 28th but was halted following consultations with its partners and stakeholders.

Instead, elements have gone digital, including an Online Catalogue, a Global Art Forum live-broadcast and an Online Performance Programme on the subject of healing, curated by Marina Fokidis.

The postponed 14th edition of Art Dubai will now take place from 17th-20th March 2021, at its long-term home of Madinat Jumeirah.
