Marco Longmore has been appointed as founding headmaster of Brighton College Dubai, ahead of its opening in September 2018.
Longmore has been rector of the Edinburgh Academy, on of Scotland's leading HMC schools, for the last eight years.
The Scottish national read History at Edinburgh before beginning his teaching career in 1991 at George Heriot's School, becoming head of history at George Watson's College in 1998. His next move was south, as senior deputy head at Alleyn's School in London, before returning to the Scottish capital in 2008 to lead the Academy. During the period of his headship, The Edinburgh Academy grew to become one of Scotland's most successful co-educational schools.
Longmore will assist Brighton College Dubai in the recruitment of students and staff, and will take up his appointment in Dubai in January 2018.
