Dubai-based Newlands School, which will open this month, has introduced a scholarship programme for Emirati girls.
Five Emirati girls will be offered 100% financial support on current tuition fees for Years 1-6, where fees range from AED 21,060 to AED 23,760 per year.
In order to qualify for the scholarship, candidates must gain a place at the school through the regular assessment route via the school's admissions department.
Newlands School has set up a scholarship committee to decide which five pupils will qualify, and entrance exams for the scholarship will take place in early September. The application deadline for scholarships is September 30.
Newlands School founding principal Jane Whitby said: "Scholarships will be awarded on merit, irrespective of financial means. This programme is indicative of our commitment to raising achievement within the Emirati community and provide access to high-quality education that is fully supported by our teaching staff and the wider school. We look forward to receiving the applications and wish everyone applying good luck."
