Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, Saudia, has issued a warning to all its passengers to abide by the country’s conservative dress code.
Passengers would be escorted out of the aircraft if they don’t adhere to the dress code, a statement on the website said.
Women whose arms or legs are “exposed” and men who wear shorts would not be allowed to board or would be “removed” from the airline.
The statement said: “Saudia is requesting [all] guests to abide by a dress code whereby they are not clothed in a manner that would cause discomfort or offense to other passengers.”
It also said that women wearing “too thin or too tight clothes” would also be deplaned “at any point”.
