Employees at Grand Millennium Al Wahda, Abu Dhabi took part in a week long campaign to raise awareness about the importance of having regular eye tests for World Glaucoma Week.
The worldwide awareness week, which stared on Saturday, March 10this being held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. At the family event, activities included running, walking and children jogging, eye pressure was measured before and after each activity.
Commenting on the hotel’s participation, Grand Millennium Al Wahda GM Enad Tannous said: “We are honoured to be actively associated with initiatives that bring positive changes to the lives of our family and colleague. We support people who have eyesight issues and understand the effects it can have on them. We will continue to remind colleagues to have eye checks on a regular basis, so glaucoma can be detected at an early stage before it causes more severe problems”.
The worldwide awareness week, which ends on Saturday March 17th, is a collaboration between the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology, the Medical Services Corps of the UAE Armed Forces, government and private entities including the Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.
