MGallery opens second property in Dubai

MGallery has opened its second property in Dubai, the newly re-branded The Canvas Hotel, MGallery, in Bur Dubai’s Port Rashid area.

The franchise agreement was signed with Khamas Group of Investments.

The upper-upscale property features 164 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, three lounges, Signature, an Indian restaurant from celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, as well as a spa.

As part of a phased refurbishment, The Canvas Hotel, will redefine the guest arrival experience and the lobby, in line with the MGallery ethos. Signature, by Sanjeev Kapoor will take over a prime location off the main lobby, while additional space is being used to upgrade the events and meeting space, with state-of-the-art audio-visual fit-out.

Pawan Kachroo, managing director of Khamas Hospitality Group, said: “AccorHotels proposed the MGallery brand, to take an existing hotel and reposition it with fresh forward-thinking dimensions. Equally, the brand’s flexibility allows us to draw on the strengths of our beginnings, re-emphasising our historical location, and its new appeal. The physical and aesthetic rejuvenation of the hotel will be undertaken through a phased approach and paves way for new interest from previously untapped markets; positioning The Canvas Dubai MGallery as a hotel of choice, catering to the needs of today’s individualistic travellers.”

After completion of the second phase of refurbishment, The Canvas Hotel, drawing on MGallery’s dining experiences, will have seven concepts .

The launch of The Canvas Hotel, MGallery accelerates the expansion of MGallery in the Middle East. MGallery has more than 90 addresses including flagship properties such as Hotel Molitor Paris MGallery, Le Grand Hotel Cabourg MGallery, Santa Teresa Hotel Rio de Janeiro MGallery, Hotel des Arts Saigon MGallery and others in over 25 countries around the world. The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery was the first in the Middle East in addition to the first wellness-focused resort in the region when it opened its doors last year.

AccorHotels operates 46 properties in the UAE, in addition to 27 under development. In the Middle East, AccorHotels currently operates over 100 hotels, encompassing close to 34,000 rooms, in addition to 95 hotels under development across the luxury to economy segments. The network is expected to double in size, bringing over 25,000 additional rooms to the region.
