More foreign visitors are expected in Morocco as the government accelerates campaigns to meet its 2020 tourism revenue target of MAD140 billion ($1.4 billion).

Sérgio Pereira, general manager, Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, said: “Morocco’s offering of diverse leisure activities and adventures makes it a global tourist destination. We at Mazagan are proud to be making significant contributions to the steady growth of the local tourism community.

"Tourism creates new jobs for people and brings in substantial income to the government. It also helps improve the country’s reputation on an international stage. At Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, we firmly believe in the industry’s significant role in the nation’s overall socio-economic program. By ensuring that our guests have an unforgettable stay, we are, in effect, contributing to the steady growth of the domestic tourism sector.”

Located an hour away from Casablanca airport, Mazagan has 500 suites and rooms overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, a pool and a forest. The property features an 18-hole golf course designed by Gary Player, a selection of restaurants, a spa and a night club.

This year, the resort welcomed 96000 guests in the first half of the year and remains optimistic about guest turnout in the coming months.
