Forty UAE-based chefs have been awarded with a global cheese certification as part of the USA Cheese Specialist programme.
Organised by the USA Cheese Guild group, the certification is designed to raise awareness of all that USA cheeses have to offer and empowers chefs to “unlock their creative potential”.
Designed for foodservice, the global training programme consists of three, progressive certification levels such as Associate, Intermediate and Advanced. Chefs attended a series of training courses designed to broaden their knowledge of US cheeses.
The chefs are from 22 hotel properties in the UAE and come from nine different countries across the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Commenting on the certifications presented to the chefs, USA Cheese Guild’s executive director Angélique Hollister said the programme is designed to invest in the future of young chefs.
“As the leading global supplier of high quality cheese, the United States is in a unique position to help educate the world about this versatile food and inspire new culinary creations,” said Hollister.
The USA Cheese Specialist Certification Programme launched in partnership with the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) Dubai at the end of 2018.
