The Merchant House, Bahrain’s first five-star boutique, is now offering a traditional afternoon tea and a Friday brunch to guests.
The afternoon tea, named ‘Afternoon T’ by the hotel, is made up of mini sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, ginger, fruit, dates and nuts. It combines both traditional British recipes with influences from the silk route history of Bahrain.
The tea is served at the boutique’s library, a mezzanine overlooking the lobby that boasts a collection of more than 1,000 books.
The hotel’s Indigo Rooftop Restaurant offers the Friday brunch. The brunch fuses Mediterranean and Asian cuisines, resulting in dishes such as poached eggs with salsa verde, grilled halloumi, salmon avocado rolls and seabass sashimi. The brunch also offers guests a choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Like many other hotels under the Campbell Gray group, the hotel features a plethora of artworks, many of which from Bahraini artists.
The Campbell Gray Hotels-owned boutique opened in February of this year and swiftly scooped up a number of hospitality awards. It received both the Boutique Hotel of the Year at the Leaders in Hospitality Awards 2019 by Hotel & Catering News Middle East, and the Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year at the LTG Africa and Middle East Awards.
