Millennium Hotels & Resorts MEA chief executive officer Kevork Deldelian has sent a message of gratitude to all those in the hospitality sector across the globe.
Deldelian highlighted that many of those working in hotels are currently confined to staying at the property, unable to see their loved ones.
He said: “Many hotels across the globe are used for quarantine, stranded travellers and long term guests staying in serviced apartments, which are operated by unsung heroes on the ground who volunteered without hesitation to serve the guests, with passion and without prejudice during these challenging times, with their usual cheerful smile.
This situation imposes that those heroes are obliged to quarantine themselves and aren't permitted to leave the hotel premises, nor seeing or taking care of their beloved ones for weeks. They are called hoteliers.
Their heroic act displays determination and commitment to the community while taking personal risk, yet not stepping back. A very selfless act indeed that should be applauded, recognised and rewarded. Kudos to all the Hoteliers and proud to be a hotelier!”Millennium is one of many hospitality groups currently pledging resources to help in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. The group recently facilitated 60 hotel rooms to be used by frontline medical workers to get vital rest as they wait for urgent calls. The group has also said it is willing to help the UAE government however it deems fit.
