Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has partnered with Burjeel Hospital to offer guests COVID-19 testing in their room.

Guests staying at the hotel can request a test from their ‘Personal Concierge’, a member of staff dedicated to help guests before, during and after their stays.

Tests are then performed by hospital staff who come to the guests’ hotel room. The test is priced at AED250 and results are provided in less than 24 hours.

It’s believed that Dubai’s medical tourism sector will be one of the fastest to recover. The emirate’s prompt action against the virus, coupled with initiatives such as Waldorf’s are expected to bring an influx of medical tourists.

Dr Marwan Al Mulla, CEO - Health Regulation Sector, Dubai Health Authority, said: "As we all know, the world is currently facing an unprecedented crisis - one that has managed to impact various industry verticals, including health tourism.

"However, the government's commitment and effort to address the impact of the pandemic has put us on the path to recovery rather soon. In fact, the exemplary actions of the government has allowed the UAE to be ranked as one of the safest nations during the pandemic, number one in the Arab region and one of the world's top ten in managing COVID-19."
