Industrial engineering firm Weir Oil & Gas is rolling out its new global pressure control solutions offering at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas later this month.
In the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA), Weir Oil & Gas is now offering off-the-shelf products as well as customised wellhead solutions designed to meet unique specifications. Weir is providing in-country service and support through its manufacturing centres, which allow the company to manufacture and distribute wellhead equipment more quickly due to close proximity to customers in the region.
Meanwhile, the new Weir EDGE aftermarket programme focuses on offering engineers for repair and support, rather than mechanics, to extend their aftermarket services. Weir believes locating engineers in the field provides a distinct advantage for oil and gas operators. With Weir EDGE, engineers are designated to look beyond resolving acute, immediate problem to identify and address root causes to prevent future downtime.
Weir will also introduce its next generation RFID AMP technology at OTC. The new enhancements include the ability to scan certificates offline for uninterrupted work flow regardless of Internet or cellular signal strength, enhanced asset details to enable operators to see the status of items they wish to edit on Weir’s mobile app and the ability to write new tags for items even when operators are away from their connected network.
Weir claims its RFID AMP technology allows 900 pieces of iron to be tagged and accounted for in less than 60 minutes, complete with certificates.
