The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has penned a 15 year sales tie-up with the Dubai Supply Authority (Dusup) to provide the city’s natural gas requirements, according to Reuters.

ADNOC Group CEO and Minister of State Dr Sultan Al Jaber said, “This agreement underscores ADNOC Group’s commitment to meeting the growing energy needs of the UAE. By making smart investments in the development of new gas reserves, we will harness all our gas resources for the benefit of the nation.”

The deal replaces a previous arrangement, dating back to 1998, which included ADNOC building the Taweelah to Jebel Ali pipeline and the first gas was supplied from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in 2001.

The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by Dr Al Jaber and Ahmed bin Saeed, Dusup’s director general.
