DB Schenker in Dubai has begun construction of the second phase of its contract logistics expansion in the Logistics District at Dubai South, the 35,000 square meter warehouse will bring the total contract logistics capacity to 45,000 square meters by the end of 2018.
The logistics center is the second facility out of a three phase growth plan which should provide DB Schenker with a footprint in the Logistics District at Dubai South of approximately 80,000 sqm by 2021.
The state-of-the-art logistics center will have a warehouse space of 35,000 square meters with a 3,500 square meter mezzanine dedicated to value added services and spare parts operations.
It will contain temperature-controlled areas as well as ambient temperature zones. The facility is planed to start operation in Q1 2019.

With capacity to process 12 million tons of air cargo by 2023, the Logistics District is strategically located near to the world’s biggest airport, and adjacent to one of the world’s largest container ports, Jebel Ali Port.
DLC incorporates more than 25 sq. km of free zone and serves every transport mode, logistics need and value-adding operation in the supply chain.
DB Schenker says it has facilitated the market entry of many international companies and grows together with them in this complex but also high potential region.
