A Dubai Duty Free warehouse in the Umm Ramool area was badly damaged when a fire broke out on Monday.

Firefighters from Dubai Civil Defence were alerted at 2pm and said the blaze was under control within just 14 minutes.

No injuries have been reported and Dubai Duty Free said that all employees were evacuated safely.

It is unclear what goods were being kept at the warehouse but it is understood the fire started at the issuing yard.

“Firefighters from Al Rashidiya fire station were dispatched immediately and they controlled the fire at 2.16pm without reports of any injuries,” a spokesperson from Dubai Duty Free told Gulf News.

DDF thanked emergency services for their swift response.
