The IT Department of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance has announced that it has achieved ISO 27001:2013 certification for information security standards.
The IT department obtained this certificate after successfully applying security controls, including the information leakage prevention (ILP) project, and establishing a control centre for information security, in addition to installing advanced firewall protection provided with the latest intrusion protection.
The ISO audit was conducted by DNV GL.
The certificate was awarded in a ceremony attended by HE Abdulla Ali Musleh Al Ahbabi, acting undersecretary of DoF- Abu Dhabi; Dr Hazem El Khatib, director of Information Technology at DoF; Mohammed Hamad Al Neyadi, head of Information Security Division; Alireza Majd, regional Director of MENA region, DNV GL, and Christos Markopoulos, Head of Sales and Marketing, DNV.
HE Abdulla Ali Musleh Al Ahbabi said that the certification added a new level to DoF's IT management, and confirms its ongoing commitment to applying the highest quality and standards of excellence in all operations, alongside delivery of innovative services in order to achieve the highest level of client satisfaction.
Dr. Hazem El Khatib added that this remarkable acheivement is the result of the support and guidance of the senior management and the embodiment of their strategy towards the application of international best practices. He also acknoweledged the efforts of the Department's team and their eagerness for leadership and excellence, as well as their use of the latest technologies and pursuit of the highest standards of accuracy in the quality and provision of DoF's security services.
