Saudi Arabia's SAMBA is slowly resuming ATM and online banking services following a service outage which began as early as Wednesday.
SAMBA's banking services have been offline since the end of last week, leaving customers unable to access accounts or withdraw money.
The bank's branches have apparently deployed security guards in some instances, to control angry customers. SAMBA said that services resumed late on Saturday, although some users reported slow response from online banking.
In a statement, SAMBA confirmed that branch and online services had been disrupted, but denied that it was due to hacking or malicious activity. The bank stressed that its systems were not compromised.
SAMBA further said it was working to restore service, and is co-ordinating with the Saudi Arabia Monetary Agency (SAMA).
