Ministry of Health and Prevention uncovers its healthcare IT journey at WSIS 2017
The WSIS is an annual gathering for the ‘ICT for development' community

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) presented its healthcare IT journey at the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) 2017 in Geneva.

Mubaraka Mubarak Ali Ibrahim, director for Health Information Systems discussed the healthcare IT journey since 1996, the UAE's 2021 vision, and how patient engagement and empowerment play a key role in maintaining their well-being.

Ali Alajmi, director, Information Technology Department, showcased the national unified medical record (NUMR), which is the initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to establish a NUMR of all UAE patients to improve the healthcare system of the entire country, with the aim of advancing patient safety, quality of care, population wellness, and universal health coverage.

The MOHAP participated as part of the UAE delegation led by TRA.

The WSIS is an annual gathering for the ‘ICT for development' community.
