Etisalat Academy to host blockchain technology seminar and workshop

Etisalat Academy, a provider of telecom and business training, is set to host a workshop and seminar focused on the latest developments in Blockchain technology. The three-day event, which is set to run from the 21 - 23 March, 2017, will include participants from both the government and business sectors.

Under the theme Blockchain: The Next Disruptive Technology, the event is being organised in close collaboration with Human Logic, a UAE-based eLearning and software provider.

The workshop, titled Blockchain Distributed APPs (DAPPs) Developer, will focus on educating participants on the development of Blockchain apps and provide IT professionals the core framework required to develop for DAPPs for enterprises, government and financial technology.

On the final day of the three-day event, the Etisalat Academy's seminar will introduce to both senior and mid-level management personnel to the basic concepts of Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.

Dr. Ali Al-Qayedi, Ag. General Manager of Etisalat Academy, commented: "Today the region's largest organisations are seriously considering the Blockchain technology to improve their existing services, systems and products, by taking advantage of its key features: security, transparency, full life-cycle transaction history, real-time, immutability and cost-efficiency."

He added: "Etisalat Academy has taken an initiative to conduct this inaugural Blockchain seminar and workshop in a bid to contribute to building capabilities of  decision makers as well as IT managers and professionals in the government, finance and business industries empowering them to make the best of the unlimited opportunities this new technology has to offer, especially in terms of increasing efficiency of government services and business transactions and creating new specialised sectors."
