Carbon Black, a provider of next-generation endpoint security, has appointed channel expert Christian Hewitt to a new role as channel development manager in the UAE.
The appointment comes as Carbon Black expands its global reach and builds up its customer base across the Middle East region.
Hewitt joins Carbon Black to lead the identification and engagement of channel partners across this important region.
Prior to this, Hewitt spent seven years at RSA, where he worked on a range of technical and commercial roles and brings long-term knowledge of the security industry. Before joining RSA Christian also held the role of Sales Specialist for the Middle East and Emerging Markets at Symantec.
The appointment of Christian Hewitt ahead of GITEX follows on from the appointment earlier this year of Miles Rippon as EMEA channel director.
According to the vendor, Hewitt will work closely with Miles to develop Carbon Black's channel strategy in the Middle East region.
Rippon added: "Christian joins Carbon Black bringing great experience and an enviable track record in security having spent the last nineteen years working in technology roles ranging from senior systems engineer to sales specialist. I'm delighted Christian is joining the team, his background, language skills and detailed knowledge of the local partner community and strong understanding of endpoint will fast-track us in developing the right relationships in the UAE market. Christian's experience will be hugely valuable for us as we rapidly grow our presence in this region."
Hewitt said: "I am excited to be joining a rapidly growing team in the Middle East and to take responsibility for increasing Carbon Black's channel presence in the region. I am hugely impressed by Carbon Black's ambition, products and what it can offer to customers to help protect their endpoints against evolving threats that traditional AV cannot address."
