His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai opened a smart government service centre that will be staffed by robots.
The centre, named ‘Service 1', will be based in Emirates Tower and will host 14 government entities, offering smart access to more than 100 government services.
The centre will feature artificial intelligence technology, Watson, which was developed by IBM and Mubadal through a joint venture, dubbed Cognit.
The idea is to reduce the number of visits, therefore the centre will offer three joint services:
Mabrook Ma Dabrt: A package of services for prospective spouses where they can
complete the marriage contract and all related procedures in one visit only.
Mabrook Ma Yak: A package of services for new born babies by which customers can submit all of their babies documents in one transaction only.
Employment: A shared service that include a package of four services. It targets the private sector (companies that have less than 50 employees all over the county). This service will allow the finalisation of all employment transactions in one visit only.
Sheikh Mohammed, Ruler of Dubai, launched the centre in the presence of Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future.
Shaikh Mohammad, said: "We want the customer to spot a different, comfortable, flexible and welcoming atmosphere at our service centres though employing advanced technologies and make them available and accessible where they can get all services in one visit only."
