Snapchat is facing a user revolt, after users objected to a new update to the social media app.
A new interface, meant to separate content from friends from paid content, has been rejected by users for being too complicated. Over one million Snapchat users have signed a petition calling for the update to be rolled back.
The company said it introduced the changes to differentiate between content posted by friends and sponsored and paid for content from brands. Users have objected to not being able to access content from celebrities and influencers as easily as before, and to other changes in the interface.
Despite the response to the petition on the change.org website, Snapchat appears to be unwilling to roll back the update, telling users that it just takes some getting used to.
